What a wonderful first week at Robert Warren! It has been exciting to welcome our students back and see our hallways and classrooms filled with energy, laughter, and learning. We have an incredible group of Robert Warren Warriors, and we are looking forward to a fantastic year together!
There is already lots happening at RW, with athletics, Band and Choir getting underway and many opportunities for students to get involved.
Our Terry Fox Run is coming up quickly on Friday, September 11! This year, Robert Warren has a fundraising goal of $1,000 to support cancer research, and we are asking each student to bring a Toonie for Terry to help us reach our goal. Additional donations are always welcome, and families can also donate through our school’s online Terry Fox fundraising page:

Students are asked to come to school in proper athletic wear on Friday and may also bring additional money if they would like to purchase a snow cone at the end of the run. Every contribution, big or small, helps us work toward our goal and continue Terry’s dream. Thank you for your support!

Office Reminder / Recordatorio de la Oficina
For all absences, late arrivals, and early departures, please call our Absent Line at 403-777-7690, Extension 1. Please provide your child’s full name, grade, date, and reason.
If your child will be leaving early, please call in the morning whenever possible. This allows the office to update PowerSchool and notify teachers in advance. Advance notice is especially important as students may be off school grounds for activities such as PE walks and helps us accurately account for all students throughout the school day.
Supporting Student Well-Being/ Apoyo al Bienestar Estudiantil
Ms. Keen, our Mental Health Learning Leader, is available to support students with anxiety, stress, peer relationships, and other well-being concerns. Students can connect with Ms. Keen directly or through their teacher. Parents and guardians are also welcome to email clkeen@cbe.ab.ca if they feel a check-in would benefit their child.

A busy week of athletics is coming up at Robert Warren!
Cross-Country
· Tuesday, September 8: Practice, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
· Thursday, September 10: Meet at North Glenmore Park, 4:15–6:30 p.m.
Basketball
· Girls’ Tryouts: Tuesday, September 8 & Thursday, September 10, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
· Boys’ Tryouts: Stay tuned for confirmation of tryout dates and times.
Co-ed Soccer Team
· Tryouts: Wednesday, September 9, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Required Athletic Forms
Students must have all required forms completed before participating in any tryout or athletic activity. Forms are attached to this email:
· Annual Authorization for Athletic Tryout Form – required for all students
· Fairness and Safety in Sport Form – required for female students aged 12 and older
Band & Choir/ Banda y Coro
🎵 Band Start-Up Clinic
Our Band Start-Up Clinic will take place on Friday, September 18 from 1:30–3:30 p.m. The clinic is open to all Grade 7 Band students, as well as students who are new to their instruments. This is a great opportunity to kick-start the year and build confidence by working with professional musicians.
The cost is $30, payable by cash or cheque made out to MPARW.
Band contracts have also been handed out. Please return these as soon as possible so students can begin using their assigned instruments.
