It has been a busy and exciting week at Robert Warren! We had a wonderful Terry Fox Run, our first fire drill went smoothly thanks to our students’ cooperation, and athletics are well underway with soccer and basketball tryouts and our first cross-country meet. It has been great to see so many students getting involved and showing their school spirit.
Looking ahead, please note two important events next week:
· School Photos: Monday, September 14
· Meet the Teacher Night: Thursday, September 17
o Doors Open: 6:00 p.m.
o 6:10–6:30 p.m.: Welcome presentation in the Gym for all NEW students and families (Grades 6–9) with all teachers present. If you are not new to Robert Warren School but would like to attend, you are most welcome—this session will review some key routines and important aspects of both middle school and Robert Warren.
o 6:30–7:00 p.m.: Grade Team Presentations
o 7:00–7:30 p.m.: Families are invited to tour the school, meet core and complementary teachers, and connect with staff.
Please remember this is not a parent-teacher conference. Formal conferences will take place later this fall. School Council representatives will be present, and families can sign up for volunteering. Be sure to follow us on Instagram @escuelarobertwarren for updates and highlights.

Healthy Hunger / Hambre Saludable
Healthy Hunger lunch orders are available many Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the school year. Families can visit HealthyHunger.ca to register their child in their class and begin ordering lunches.

Office Reminder / Recordatorio de la Oficina
For all absences, late arrivals and early departures, please call our Absent Line at 403-777-7690, Extension 1, and provide your child’s full name, grade, date and reason. For early departures, please call in the morning whenever possible so we can update PowerSchool and notify teachers, particularly when students may be off-site for activities.
Please also return any outstanding school and vaccination forms to the office as soon as possible.

Robert Warren School Council
All parents and guardians are invited to join us for our first School Council meeting on Tuesday, September 22, held in person at Robert Warren School.
· School Council: 7:00 p.m.
· School Society: 7:45 p.m.
· Meetings will include the work of School Council, the Robert Warren School Society and MPARW, with several roles to be filled this year.
Future Meetings (via Microsoft Teams): October 20, November 24, January 19, February 23, April 13 and May 18. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m., with Society business beginning at 7:45 p.m.
We look forward to connecting with our families and working collaboratively to support Robert Warren students throughout 2026–2027!

· Boys’ Tryouts: Monday, September 14, 3:30–5:00 p.m.
· Please note the tryout has been extended by 30 minutes from the previously announced time.

Band & Choir/ Banda y Coro
🎵 Band Start-Up Clinic
Our Band Start-Up Clinic will take place on Friday, September 18 from 1:30–3:30 p.m. The clinic is open to all Grade 7 Band students, as well as students who are new to their instruments. This is a great opportunity to kick-start the year and build confidence by working with professional musicians.
The cost is $30, payable by cash or cheque made out to MPARW.
Band contracts have also been handed out. Please return these as soon as possible so students can begin using their assigned instruments.
