¡Hola familias de Robert Warren!

We are looking forward to an exciting week at Robert Warren as we celebrate Spanish Cultural Week! Throughout the week, students will participate in a variety of activities celebrating Spanish language, culture, and our wonderful school community.

We are excited to welcome back Dando Dance, who will be teaching students a variety of cultural dances from the Spanish-speaking world. This is always a highlight of the year, filled with energy, laughter, and some impressive dance moves. Who knew we had so many talented dancers at Robert Warren!

Throughout the week, students will enjoy cultural activities, including piñata making. On Wednesday, we will recognize Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a meaningful tradition with deep roots in Mexican culture that honours and remembers loved ones who have passed away.

The week will culminate in our Friday Pep Rally, featuring team challenges, relay races, building a Catrina, and a celebration of our fall athletics! Following the pep rally, students will enjoy a dance and additional cultural activities to wrap up our celebrations.

Students and staff are also invited to dress up in their favourite costumes. Our staff will be embracing the theme "Through the Generations!" From the Roaring 20s to disco and Gen Alpha, we can't wait to see everyone's creativity! Students are welcome to join the theme, represent their favourite era, or simply wear a costume of their choice.

Costume Reminder / Recordatorio sobre los disfraces:

All costumes must be school-appropriate. Masks and costume weapons are not permitted. Todos los disfraces deben ser apropiados para el entorno escolar. No se permiten máscaras ni armas de juguete como parte de los disfraces.

A special thank you to the Robert Warren Parent Society for generously supporting our Spanish Cultural Week activities. Your contributions help make these memorable experiences possible for our students.

¡Esperamos disfrutar de una semana maravillosa llena de aprendizaje, risas y celebraciones de todo lo que hace a Robert Warren una comunidad tan especial!

Saludos,

Kristal Derbyshire, Principal

School Arrival & Punctuality Reminder

With colder weather approaching, we encourage families to allow extra travel time and drive safely. Our first bell rings at 8:40 am, and students should be in the building and ready for class.

We continue to see over 35 late arrivals each morning, with many students arriving late repeatedly. Late arrivals mean missed instructional time and disruptions to classroom learning.

Thank you for helping ensure students arrive on time and ready to learn!

Volunteers are trained on site, no experience or volunteer clearance is required, and a meal is provided during each shift.
