Robert Warren families!

We are pleased to inform you that our school has been allocated one additional teaching position for the 2026–27 school year through the Government of Alberta’s Class Size Reduction Grant.

This grant funds teaching positions that support improved learning conditions in Kindergarten to Grade 9 classrooms.

This funding is specifically intended to help reduce class sizes in core subject areas (English Language Arts/French Language Arts/Spanish Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), with priority given to schools experiencing the greatest class size pressures.

This decision was made using system-wide data that considers:

• The number of classes exceeding provincial class size benchmarks
• Projected enrolment and class organization
• School programming and grade configuration

At Robert Warren School, this additional staffing allocation will allow us to maintain three Grade 9 homerooms next year, rather than consolidating students into two larger classes. As a result, we are able to plan for more balanced Grade 9 homerooms of approximately 23–24 students per class, creating improved learning conditions and increased opportunities for individualized support.

Our goal is to ensure students benefit from:

• Increased teacher attention
• Improved classroom learning environments
• Greater support for diverse learning needs

We remain committed to supporting strong learning environments for all students and using our resources thoughtfully and strategically.

Band / Banda

A huge congratulations and thank you to our incredible band students, Mrs. Gilliland, staff volunteers and the MPARW Council for making this year's Band Concert such a memorable success! The evening was a wonderful celebration of our students' hard work, growth, and musical talent. We are so proud of all that they accomplished this year.

As we wrap up the band season, all band students must return their instruments, music, folders, and band vests as soon as possible. Many items are still outstanding, and replacement fees will apply for any items that are not returned.

And one final reminder for our band students: there are no more band rehearsals for the remainder of the school year! 🎉
