We are finally getting some beautiful spring weather, and students have been enjoying more time outdoors during Physical Education classes. Most classes are currently busy learning and practicing Track & Field events, and we are looking forward to cheering on our Warriors who will be participating in the Divisional Track Meet on Wednesday, June 10 at Foothills Athletic Park.

A reminder to families to please complete Activate forms and payment through PowerSchool by May 27 in order to secure your child’s spot in the program. Each grade level has a designated attendance day and time:
• June 12 – Grade 9 (AM)
• June 15 – Grade 7 (AM)
• June 18 – Grade 6 (PM)
• June 23 – Grade 8 (AM)
Next week, Grade 6 students will begin PATs with the ELA PAT Part A on May 25 from 9:00–11:00 a.m. We would like to remind families that regular classes continue following all PATs, and students are expected to attend a course work and learning continue throughout the day. If students are away by choice following a PAT, the absence will be recorded as unexcused.

Grade 9 Farewell Volunteer Opportunities
Our Grade 9 Farewell celebrations are quickly approaching, and we are looking for volunteers to help make these events memorable for our students!
There are a variety of opportunities available, including:
• Calaway Park support (Wednesday, June 24)
• Walk the Stage and decoration support (Wednesday, June 24)
• Farewell dance set-up and decorating (Thursday, June 25)
• Food and supply pick-up assistance (Thursday, June 25)
• Evening Farewell and dessert bar support (Thursday, June 25)
• Clean-up and take-down assistance following the event
We are so grateful for the support of our school community, and any time you are able to give is greatly appreciated.

Band / Banda
Grade 9 Band Camp: Monday–Wednesday
• Please arrive at school by 8:10 a.m. each day.
• Students will return to the school at the end of lunch and will be provided lunch while at camp.
• Students are expected to remain at school for afternoon classes following their return.
Grade 7 Band Camp: Wednesday–Friday
• Students should bring luggage directly to the stage in the morning.
• Please meet Mr. Garcia in the activity area at the bell.
• Families are asked to arrange Friday pick-up at the bell.
• Please leave space near the school for buses to safely drop students off.
There will be NO morning band rehearsals this week.
Final Band Concert – June 8
Ticket orders for extra tickets are first come, first served. All families are guaranteed 2 tickets until June 5. Please submit ticket requests as soon as possible.

Chess Club Monday at lunch in Room 8. All skills welcome!
Open Hours at lunch with Sra. Soltesz
Open Hours will be available on Thursdays during the lunch hour. Students are welcome to come in to work on assignments, and Chromebooks will be available for use. On Thursdays, students will also have the ption to participate in literacy games and enjoy board games in Spanish.
Buddy Lunches on Wednesdays / Almuerzos de compañeros los miércoles
Join us Wednesdays at lunch in Ms. Keen’s classroom for Open Hours, Peer Buddies, and Tutoring. This is a great opportunity for students to connect across grade levels, get extra support with schoolwork or organization, and build community in a positive, supportive space.
