As a reminder, this week’s newsletter is being shared one day earlier, as Friday is a Professional
Learning Day and students do not have classes.
Wednesday marked the start of Semester 2—an exciting transition as students begin new
options and learning experiences. El inicio del segundo semestre trae nuevas oportunidades para nuestros estudiantes.
A couple of important reminders for families:
• Students go outside for part of lunch Monday–Thursday, so please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather.
• The Snack Shack will be closed until after Teacher’s Convention. As this initiative is run by our Business 7/8/9 students, the semester change means time is needed to train new teams.
The Snack Shack has been a great success and is truly appreciated by students, and we look forward to reopening it in the coming weeks.

TELUS BE BRAVE Student Experiences – Registration Open
Our entire school will be attending the TELUS Be Brave Calgary Hitmen game on February 24.
Families are invited to register students for special TELUS BE BRAVE Student Experiences, which offer students the chance to participate in exciting, behind-the-scenes gameday roles.
Registration is open now until February 19.

Student experience opportunities include:
• PA Announcer – Announce the starting line-up as the Hitmen take the ice
• Colour Commentator – Join Brad Curle on Sportsnet 960 for live commentary
• In-Bowl Host – Help energize the crowd alongside the Hitmen in-bowl host
• Hitmen TV Host – Interview players during warm-ups and between periods
• Jr Organist – Perform hockey classics live for fans in attendance
• Mini Farley – Suit up and join Farley, the official Hitmen mascot
Chess Club – Semester 2�
Chess Club meets Mondays at lunch in Room 8 during Semester 2.
Students will head to Chess Club during the regular outdoor recess time to play, learn
strategies, and enjoy friendly competition.
All skill levels welcome!
Que Pasa Dance Group
We are off to a great start with the Que Pasa Dance Group!
There will be a rehearsal this Monday, February 2 from 3:30–5:00 p.m. for all Grade 9 dancers and any younger students who were invited to be part of the E Group.
A Google Classroom has been set up for all Que Pasa dancers. Each dancer received a link to join through their CBE email account. This space includes choreography videos, rehearsal schedules, and important updates. Dancers are expected to practice their steps between rehearsals so they arrive prepared for their next scheduled rehearsal.

Jazz on Canterbury show Wednesday night. Students to arrive for 6:00 pm to get warmed up, show starts at 6:30.
