Robert Warren families!

This week was a wonderful celebration of connection, leadership, and community at Robert Warren School as we welcomed students from our feeder schools for two very special events.

On Tuesday, we were excited to host 120 Grade 5 students from Eugene Coste and Escuela Canyon Meadows for our annual Electricity Science Fair. A big thank you to Sra. Soltesz and Sra. Robertson for organizing this engaging event. Our Grade 9 students had the opportunity to share their learning in science and Spanish, while also learning from the Grade 5 students, who impressed everyone with their curiosity, confidence, and strong understanding of both science and Spanish. It was a fantastic example of older and younger students learning together in a meaningful and interactive way.

On Thursday, we celebrated Día del Libro with Grade 1 students from Canyon Meadows and our Grade 7 students in the Learning Commons. Thank you again to Sra. Soltesz for coordinating this special literacy connection. With nearly a 1:1 pairing, our Grade 7 students had the opportunity to welcome, support, and read alongside their younger buddies, helping create a warm and memorable experience that celebrated books, language, and community.

These opportunities are such an important part of who we are as a school. They help our students build leadership, confidence, and pride in our bilingual community, while also strengthening the connections with the younger students who will one day join us here at Robert Warren.

Gracias a todos los estudiantes y al personal por hacer de esta semana una celebración tan especial de aprendizaje y comunidad.

Saludos,

Kristal Derbyshire, Principal

Que Pasa Dancers

Monday, April 27th will be Paint Night and will run from 3:30 - 5:00pm. Dancers will be painting part of their dance costume during this rehearsal.

Dancers are required to bring a plain white t-shirt and a piece of cardboard cut to fit inside the shirt. As acrylic spray paint will be used, students must wear clothing and footwear that can get paint on them. Garbage bags will be provided to help cover most of their clothing; however, it is still possible that paint may get on skin or clothing.

Dancers will be bringing home their shirts while they are still wet, so it is strongly recommended that they bring a large Ziploc bag for transport.

Forms required to attend ¡Qué Pasa! are now overdue. I have met with students who were missing forms and ensured they received a new copy. Please have all forms signed and returned by Monday at the latest.

Thank you for your support and attention to these important details as we prepare for the performance.
